Definition: | Measures that the employer shall take in order to safeguard the safety of his employees and others in case of fire. Employer's duties
Every employer shall 1) nominate employees to implement those measures and ensure that the number of such employees, their training and the equipment available to them are adequate, taking into account the size of, and the specific hazards involved in, the workplace concerned 2) arrange any necessary contacts with external emergency services; 3) ensure that fire-fighting equipment is suitable, sufficient, easily accessible and indicated by suitable signs; 4) ensure that suitable and sufficient fire detectors and alarm systems are suitably located. |
