Definition: | Equipment that the employer provides to extinguish fires in order to protect his employees and others. Minimum provisionAll fire-fighting equipment provided must be suitable, sufficient, easily accessible, indicated by suitable signs, comply with relevant standards and be appropriately maintained. The location of fire-fighting equipment will normally be indicated using a signboard or by colouring the background behind the equipment red. If the equipment itself is predominantly red, there may be no need for a red background as well. |
