Definition: | A conformity mark, consisting of the initials CE, indicating that the product (e.g. personal protective equipment, machine or safety component) has been designed and manufactured in conformity with the essential requirements of all relevant directives, and submitted to the relevant conformity assessment procedure (the CE marking gives no indication of which conformity assessment procedure has been followed by the manufacturer - all of them are considered equivalent and appropriate).
