Definition
A painful condition caused by repetitive pressure on the median nerve in the wrist, often associated with tingling, pain or numbness in the thumb and first three fingers. CTS is most common in assembly-line workers and computer keyboard users. Treatment may include avoidance of the causative activity, ergonomic workplace design, anti-inflammatory drugs and surgery.
